Zirconium Crown

A zirconium crown is a full-ceramic cap milled from zirconia. It covers a tooth that has lost too much structure to hold a filling, and it is also the visible unit on most implant crowns and bridges. There is no metal underneath, so there is no grey line at the gum.

Who it suits

Heavily filled, cracked or root-treated teeth
Front teeth, where a metal margin would eventually show as a grey shadow
Bridge work and implant crowns
Teeth worn down by grinding

What you should know first

A crown means the tooth underneath is reduced. Where a filling or an onlay will do the job, that is what we will suggest — a crown is not the default answer to a small problem.
A crown is matched to the shade of your own teeth. Changing the shade of your whole smile is a different plan, and that plan is veneers.

How the treatment runs

Assessment
Dr. Hatice checks whether the tooth genuinely needs a crown, and whether the root is sound.

Preparation
The tooth is shaped to take the crown.

Digital scan
The prepared tooth and your bite are scanned.

Milling
The crown is milled from a zirconia block and finished to your shade.

Fitting
The crown is tried in, adjusted against your bite, and cemented.

Time in Istanbul

Crown work is normally completed inside one visit, with the lab stage in between. Your written plan states how many days that means for the number of units in your case.
